
Immersive Campout Experience for 1st ESO Students from IES Number 5 School in Garaña, Asturias
From the 17th to the 21st of June, the 1st ESO students of IES Number 5 School embarked on an unforgettable campout adventure in Garaña, Asturias. This four-day trip was not only a break from the regular school routine but also an opportunity for linguistic immersion and a variety of engaging activities that brought students closer to nature and each other.
The excitement was palpable as the students arrived at the camp on the morning of June 17th. Set against the stunning backdrop of Asturias’ natural beauty, the campout kicked off with the students settling into their new surroundings. The beautiful landscape of Garaña provided the perfect setting for the students to immerse themselves in their new environment.
Despite the rain, one of the highlights of the trip was an afternoon spent at the Adventure Centre Los Cauces. Here, the students participated in a range of thrilling activities designed to challenge them physically and mentally. From zip-lining to obstacle courses, the students had the opportunity to push their limits and work as a team. These activities were not only exhilarating but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and trust among the students. The students (and also the teachers) were able to enjoy the coastal beauty of Asturias during visits to both Guadamía and Cuevas Beaches. Back at the camp, the students enjoyed a variety of activities designed to make the most of the camp’s excellent facilities, including the swimming pool.
The campout experience from the 17th to the 21st of June in Garaña, Asturias, was a resounding success for the 1st ESO students of IES Number 5 School. The combination of adventure, linguistic immersion, and educational activities created a memorable and enriching experience for all participants. The students returned home with new skills, stronger friendships, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world and the value of teamwork. This campout has undoubtedly set the stage for many more outdoor adventures and learning opportunities in the future.
