Cuando la mar est\u00e1 en <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Pleamar\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pleamar\">pleamar<\/a>, el agua choca con fuerza contra los acantilados y sube a trav\u00e9s de estas chimeneas, saliendo despedida hacia arriba por el hueco a modo de <a title=\"G\u00e9iser\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/G%C3%A9iser\">g\u00e9iser<\/a><\/em><\/strong><strong><em> y produciendo un sonido caracter\u00edstico. Cuando la marea sube y las olas baten con fuerza, expulsa hacia arriba un chorro de agua de mar pulverizada, lo que provoca un sonido caracter\u00edstico que es lo que le da el nombre de buf\u00f3n.
