Comenzando en el Oc\u00e9ano \u00c1rtico, recogi\u00f3 un estrecho camino que llev\u00f3 al lunar oscuro a partes de Groenlandia, Islandia, el Atl\u00e1ntico, Portugal y el norte de Espa\u00f1a. Y por un momento, los habitantes de la Tierra que se encontraron con cielos claros bajo la sombra de la Luna pudieron presenciar un cierre solar total. Despu\u00e9s de esquivar el clima por el mar y hacer una aterrizaje a lo largo de Rype Fjord en la costa este de Groenlandia (a 71.07055N, 27.71252W), esta instant\u00e1nea ganada fue capturada a las 17:33:26 UTC. Eso es cerca del alcance inicial de los cielos claros a lo largo del camino de la totalidad, por lo que la imagen es probablemente una de las primeras vistas sin obst\u00e1culos del Sol totalmente eclipsado.
