En esta ocasi\u00f3n, el post surge porque dos alumnas de 1\u00baB, Luc\u00eda y Aroa, me sugirieron que les gustar\u00eda cantar en clase la canci\u00f3n <em>\u201cOh Happy Day\u201d<\/em>, y yo, encantada de tener alumnas participativas y con inter\u00e9s, me dispuse a investigar sobre la canci\u00f3n, y este es el resultado.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-BslFzo7uKdY\/U8G5hs1T4iI\/AAAAAAAAE4A\/S4YK2CvcWOU\/s1600\/images+(12).jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/>\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">El origen de la canci\u00f3n\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><em>\u201c<\/em><em>Oh Happy Day\u201d<\/em> es un arreglo de un himno del siglo XVIII escrito\u00a0 por un cl\u00e9rigo ingl\u00e9s <strong>Philip Doddridge <\/strong>con el t\u00edtulo<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><em>\u201cO happy day, that fixed my choice\u201d,<\/em> basado en textos de los Hechos de los Ap\u00f3stoles, sobre una melod\u00eda\u00a0de\u00a0<strong>J. A. Freylinghausen<\/strong>\u00a0de 1704.\u00a0A mediados del siglo XIX la melod\u00eda fue modificada por <strong>Edward F. Rimbault<\/strong>, quien tambi\u00e9n a\u00f1adi\u00f3 un coro, y fue utilizada para bautizos y ceremonias de confirmaci\u00f3n en el Reino Unido y EE.UU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">En 1967,\u00a0<strong>Edwin Hawkins,\u00a0<\/strong>un pianista americano, realiz\u00f3 un arreglo de m\u00fasica gospel, y adapt\u00f3 el ritmo original cambiando el comp\u00e1s de 3\/4 a 4\/4. Su versi\u00f3n contiene s\u00f3lo el estribillo de\u00a0<strong>Rimbault\u00a0<\/strong>repetido, omitiendo el resto de los versos originales.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-jzwNdpe7tlY\/U8MSBpx1wmI\/AAAAAAAAE6E\/zCwHr1Qv6PY\/s1600\/2632.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" border=\"1\" \/>\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Grabaci\u00f3n y \u00e9xito<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">La canci\u00f3n fue grabada por el conjunto <strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>Edwin Hawkins Singers<\/strong><strong>\u201c\u00a0<\/strong>en \u00a01968, con la voz solista de\u00a0<strong>Dorothy Morrison<\/strong>.\u00a0Esta grabaci\u00f3n lleg\u00f3 a ser un \u00e9xito internacional alcanzando el puesto cuarto en las listas USA y el puesto n\u00famero 2 en las listas pop del Reino Unido y en las de singles de Irlanda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Esta nueva versi\u00f3n de <strong>Hawkins<\/strong> le hizo ganar un premio<em> Grammy <\/em>por la <em>Mejor Interpretaci\u00f3n de Soul Gospel<\/em> en 1970 con <strong>los Edwin Hawkins Singers<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/1\/18\/Oh_Happy_Day_-_Edwin_Hawkins_Singers.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<!-- iframe plugin v.6.0 wordpress.org\/plugins\/iframe\/ -->\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ihGHltBuBBI\" scrolling=\"yes\" class=\"iframe-class\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/5Lo-qsrvh89uxJpInIHj-dHTxx8DIcCVK-ip6hjeQWFnYT64B2OGntuZlC-_iuMY2_-MyOMDPt2P5yJAvIbj-fLRDlwCYb3WFU3WSo8NJqZKYkzq8gnKuL1irg\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" \/><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Versiones<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Actualmente es uno de los temas m\u00e1s repetidos en los repertorios de m\u00fasica gospel, y ha sido grabado por numerosos artistas.
