> WRITING: a COMPLAINT EMAIL/LETTER
HELPFUL PRACTICE for next WRITING ASSIGNMENT
You will be asked to do the writing in your class during the week 5-8th April.
On the webpage below you will find a very good sample letter of complaint about a holiday that did not live up to the expectations of the people who had booked it. Pay attention to the guidelines concerning the layout, the complaint language and formulas, and the specific vocabulary to describe the problems regarding a holiday that did not go as planned: englishexamhelp.com
If you have not been able to attend the lessons at the school recently and have not got the set of photocopies, here are the links to the section of EOI WRITING BANK, where you will find the essential information about the layout and language of Complaints. There is also an example of a complaint email to help you see the vocabulary and structures in context. Read everything carefully and study the specific language you will need to use when asked to write a formal email of complaint.

In our next class we will also be doing the gap-filling exercise below in class. Download it if you have not got the photocopy and give it a try. Next week I’ll post the answers.
