Animating with functions 2

The Hidden World of Mathematics in The Simpsons

Hi

We are going to use Geogebra to animate things but, first, some game practice:

(we need a little bit of help to play. The game uses linear functions, -rectas- in the form y=mx+n.)

a) Horizontal lines, in the form y=a number

b) Vertical lines, in the form x=a number

c) Full lines in the form y=mx+n, where m=slopependiente o inclinación– and m is y-interceptla ordenada (la y) en el origen (x=0)-,

1. Now we can play this game:

Algebra vs The Cockroaches (Karappan Poochi)

2. Another game:

2. Animation time. Choose a character (best with transparent background), I’m going with my faithful Homer:

a) First we are creating an scene with some tricks to change the functions and show/hide things.

b) Then we are going to insert the image to move aorund, and learn how to do properly.

c) Then we are going to be creative.
